Yesterday, Yoyo Games made an extremely important announcement to the community.  They have hired a new Chief Technical Officer, Russell Kay, a well-known person in the Game Development industry.  Then, Sandy went on to post a video of Skydiver, a popular GM game, running on the PSP.  Although there were some graphical glitches, the game worked just like it would on a PC.  This demonstrates that Yoyo Games has indeed been working on porting games to other platforms, and this corresponds with their current competition, “Design A Handheld Game”.  This is an extraordinary development for many reasons.  First, it is impossible for the average person to develop a game for a handheld or console, even with programming knowledge.  This changes that, as it will soon be possible for anyone to have their games published to a console.  There is likely to be much buzz around the web at this possibility.  Second, Game Maker will soon be receiving media attention all over the world, as what they are doing is likely to change the way that people play games forever.  Third, many other competing websites, such as Indie Games sites may disappear, as a new way to publish indie game to a console has emerged.  Finally, this will mean huge news for the B Network, as we would be receiving much more traffic and visitors from around the world, especially when we complete our BGC redesign.  Because of this development, I have decided to rush development of B Arcade as much as I can so that we can focus on redesigning the aging BGC and add more content.  Early April should bring major updates to B Arcade, and it should be completely finished by this summer.  We will be working very fast, and will need as much help and suggestions as possible.  Even if you feel your suggestion is worthless, suggest it!!!  I want B Arcade to be much more user-friendly than its potential competitors, and to accomplish this, I need your feedback.

Here is the video that I’m sure is already on Game Maker sites across the world:

And here is the post that started it all.
